About Us
Who we are and what we do.
We're a couple of very old friends that decided to start a website that's dedicated to discovering who our most recent common ancestor (MRCA) was. We've known each other for 18 years, more than half our lives, and been close friends for pretty much all that time. Together, we are onjade - an online collaboration between the two of us, and hopefully loads of you ;-)
JonboyMy name's Jonboy (long for Jon), and I'm the techie on the team. But I'm not just a techie, I'm also the partner of a wonderful woman who gave me the most beautiful son in the world a few months ago! I've been living here in Silicon Fen, England, for nearly thirteen years, and have two cats called Didi and Bhai who make up my family here in the fen.
AdeMy name's Ade (short for Adrian), and I'm a student again right now - back here in Cambridge where I've been at grad school since last autumn doing my MBA. I'm kind of an extension to Jon's family, which is very cool indeed! I get to play with their son (a.k.a. Jonboy Junior) whenever I like, but never ever have to change any nappies ;-) Because I'm just finishing up B-School, I'm supposed to be in charge of the non-techie bits of running this website like writing stuff like this, but as you can tell, I'm not very good at it :-)
TechnicalThis website is written in XHTML 1.0 Strict and Cascading Style Sheets are used extensively to provied the layout information. All source files are written by hand using the gvim editor running on Windows XP, with testing conducted on an apache/GNU Linux host serving to Firefox and Internet Explorer clients.
Jonboy took the decision to adhere to the strict current standards for XHTML 1.0 and not to employ any deprecated, or quirk mode features.
