Our Story

A personal account of this website.

The authors are on a quest to identify their most recent common ancestor, or MRCA. In essence, this involves tracing both of our family trees (known as Branches) back as far as possible to see if the branches have a common link in the past. We call this common link the Trunk, and we consider our Trunk to be the chain of people that link our two branches together - which will hopefully be some of you! By working in collaboration with all of you, we hope to extend our knowledge of our two branches and give you the opportunity to learn more about your own ancestry at the same time.

At the time of writing, this website holds only basic genealogical information about onjade's family histories. We are currently developing a database to allow our family data to be viewed and for you to share your information, following which our next planned initiative will be to provide a novel interactive user-interface to view this data, which we're quite excited about :-) So, by viewing our Branches and sharing information you think is relevant, we could all learn more about where our ancestors came from and what they did. We're also very interested in developing a community forum, to enable you to share your thoughts, experiences, and successes with those of us with similar interests.
